Reclaimed Barnwood Furniture
A century or two ago trees were chopped down manually stripped for lumber to craft various items such as: tools, toys, and furniture.
This lumber was also used for buildings on the homestead: houses, barns, sheds, and outbuildings.
These buildings stood for a century or more and with the decline in farming have been taken down.
When the buildings were being taken down all the barnwood that was used for the buildings is bundled together and sent to the lumber yard.
The lumber yard helps preserve the reclaimed barnwood by cleaning it and making sure it keeps its integrity during the process so it can be recycle for something else.
Urban Barnwood Furniture uses the reclaimed barnwood to create authentic farm style furniture pieces and sets for your home.
These pieces & sets give your home that classic farmhouse feel, your parents and/or grandparents had when they were growing up.
The Difference Is In The Details
Barnwood process is an excellent green way to preserve the old/vintage look and give the wood a second life.
After disassembly of a building, the lumber is taken to a yard where it is preserved to maintain its strength and cleaned.
Barnwood is from century old barns and farm buildings that is cleaned and preserved to give your home the vintage & natural feel of a country home.
The reclaimed barnwood is protected by a "worry-free" catalyzed lacquer that resists stains and never needs polishing. Extension leaves are available to accommodate extra guests. Up to 2 leaves can be stored in the center of the table on models that open from the middle. Breadboard leaves (as shown) are available for solid top tables too.
